Dear Sir/Madam,

AGS ENERGY SMALL to MEDIUM SCALE ENERGY FROM WASTE SOLUTIONS FOR THE HEALTHCARE SECTORSOLICITATION FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (EoI) FOR TREATMENT PLANTS

AGS Energy Ltd has developed an innovative patented solution to soaring costs and negative environmental impact of waste management in the healthcare sector. The AGS Gasification Solution can process your clinical, offensive, domestic (black bag) and food wastes cleanly and efficiently, on site, while also delivering the renewable thermal energy back to the hospital in the form of hot water. The AGS treatment process meets and exceeds the ambitions, expectations, and criteria of the new NHS Clinical Waste Strategy January 2023.

Why should NHS Trusts participate in this program?

  1. Immediate reductions and capping of waste management costs.
  2. Future proofing: insulates and protects against pricing volatility in the waste management sector and the uncertainty of energy cost variations.
  3. Significant reduction in carbon emissions in compliance with NHS Net Zero Carbon 2040 initiative.
  4. Thermal energy generated by the AGS process is utilised within the hospital providing significant and meaningful reductions in fossil fuel consumption and costs.
  5. Reduces / eliminates vehicular traffic associated with waste on and off-site.
  6. AGS patented gasification technology offers several advantages over alternative heat treatment methods for clinical waste. These benefits include higher efficiency, versatility, reduced emissions, energy recovery, waste volume reduction, residue management, scalability, and compliance with regulations and NHS initiatives. The AGS benefits make small to medium scale on-site gasification an attractive option for sustainable and environmentally responsible clinical waste management with zero waste to landfill.

AGS Energy Ltd are seeking expressions of interest from NHS Trusts with the potential to house an AGS facility on their premises. The 6 Auger AGS equipment occupies the space of two 20ft shipping containers. AGS Energy and their funding partners would not be seeking an up-front capital cost commitment from the selected trusts. The AGS equipment will be installed, owned and operated by a special purpose enterprise (SPE) for an initial proof of concept period with a longer-term service agreement once the plant has been successfully operated for the initial period. Moreover, the SPE will take care of any planning requirements and SWIP permitting for the chosen facility.

Not only will NHS Trusts benefit from immediate cost savings and CO2 emissions reductions, but also the opportunity to acquire the plant from the SPE may be available once the commercial business case is proven to the NHS Trust’s satisfaction.

AGS Energy and its funding partners have capability for a limited number of NHS Trusts in the initial roll-out plan: priority will be given to the NHS Trusts with existing excessive waste management costs, geographical space to accommodate a plant and who can provide the waste management data for evaluation (volumes per category analysis data).

Selected NHS Trusts will be contacted for a preliminary Teams meeting evaluation which will be followed by a site visit to be coordinated at the earliest opportunity to meet with all relevant stakeholders.

If this proposition is of interest for your NHS Trust, then please digitally complete, sign and return the below section of this document.
